PAPUA (MB), – The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (Koops TNI) Habema, is currently carrying out the mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Sunday, 23 June 2024, the 503 Task Forces held a territorial program entitled "Sunday Blessings" while on patrol in the Batas Batu District. This territorial program was carried out with the aim of carrying out inclusive Social Communication with the Batas Batu residents, in between carrying out duties to maintain security of the local area.
The bright Sunday was used by the 503 Task Forces to share food with residents in several villages passed by the Task Forces Patrol Team. The Soldiers used the opportunity to visit and to interact with the residents to observe the security situation in the Batas Batu District. The implementation of this Sunday Blessings, in particular, was carried out by the Soldiers from the Batas Batu Post and led directly by the Post Commander named First Lieutenant Galih Nugroho. The presence of the Soldiers was welcomed happily by all residents who had the opportunity to meet face to face and receive food parcels. By maintaining security during activities, harmonious communication between TNI Soldiers and the residents have resulted in a close relationship between the two parties.
The territorial activities that have been held by the 503 Task Forces in the Batas Batu District area is a TNI's commitment to implementing inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders in the Papua region. This is in line with the implementation of the Presidential Instruction to the TNI Commander as stated in Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of Welfare Development in Papua, including building an inclusive Social Community with Papuan Figures and Strategic Groups in realizing appropriate development approaches and policies.
"The Sunday Blessings held by the 503 Task Forces in the Batas Batu District is an implementation of the TNI's task of implementing inclusive Social Communication, as an effort to accelerate the development of Papua," said the Habema Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.(*)
